Game Highlights

The 2003 Ale House season is officially over.  The team would like to say  "Thank You" to Brian Gilchrist and the Ale House for sponsorship and to all of the great fans who supported our team.  We hope to see you next season!

(PLAYOFFS - Round One - Best of Three - Game 2)
Ale House vs.
Valenti's Pub I - 8/7/03)
It was bad softball that only got worst.  The Ale House was down 10-0 after the the top of the first inning.  It was a hard game to watch and a more difficult one to play.  The Ale House actually tied the game 12-12 at one point, but that might have been the only positive.  The Ale House was without their starting pitchers and with Scott Brown making a valiant effort, nothing ever really got going.  The game was a marathon, taking two hours and thirty-two minutes to complete.  The final score was 29-22 in favor of Valenti's Pub I.  Valenti's Pub I wins the best of three series 2-0.

(PLAYOFFS - Round One - Best of Three - Game 2)
Ale House vs.
Valenti's Pub I - 8/6/03)
Rain Out!

(PLAYOFFS - Round One - Best of Three - Game 2)
Ale House vs.
Valenti's Pub I - 8/5/03)
The Ale House tried to play, and we got thru 2/3 of the first inning.  Rain Out!

(PLAYOFFS - Round One - Best of Three - Game 1)
Ale House vs.
Valenti's Pub I - 8/4/03)
The Ale House never really got going, except for a late seventh inning rally which fell short.  The final score was 11-8 in favor of Valenti's Pub I.  Valenti's Pub I leads the best of three series 1-0.

(PLAYOFFS - Round One - Best of Three - Game 1)
Ale House vs.
Valenti's Pub I - 8/1/03)
Rain Out!

Ale House vs. Kielty's Emerald Isle - 7/25/03 - Final game of the regular season)
A competitive game in some ways, ugly in others.  The Ale House plans to focus on the playoffs.  The final score was 7-5 in favor of Kielty's Emerald Isle.

Ale House vs. Ahearn's Hideaway - 7/23/03)
Heavy rains suggested a rain out, but the game was on and the Ale House came up short of players.

Ale House vs. Ale House II - 7/18/03)
The Ale House got clocked.  The Final score was 18-3 in favor of the Ale House II.

Ale House vs. Scoreboard - 7/16/03)
The game was back and forth the entire eight  innings.  Mike Ward and Phil Williams went yard along the way.  But is took a huge rally in the top of the eighth for the Ale House to secure the victory.  The final score was 18-12.

Ale House vs. Ahearn's Hideaway - 7/11/03)
 Rain Out!

Ale House vs. Ale House II - 7/9/03)
The Ale House vs. Ale House II games are always tough well played games between two rival squads.  This game was no different, until a few breakdowns in the Ale House defense and some clutch well timed hits by Ale House II.  The final score was 13-7 in favor of the Ale House II.

Ale House vs. Mud Dogs - 7/1/03)
Another disappointing defensive night for the Ale House, but the Ale House did rally with the long ball to win behind Henry Montgomery.  Mike Ward hit a grand slam and Noel Minbiole hit a three run shot.  The Final score was 11-8.

Ale House vs. Valenti's Pub II - 6/30/03)
It was a terrible night for the Ale House defense.  Then add spermatic offense and you have an U-G-L-Y game.  Noel Minbiole and Mike Tavani did go yard, which provided some positive momentum.  The final score was 16-8 in favor of Valenti's Pub.

Ale House vs. Kielty's Emerald Isle - 6/27/03)
A game with ups and downs.  The Ale House generated little offense until the top of the six inning when Mike Bendon and Phil Williams hit back to back home runs to bring the Ale House within one run of a tie game. The Ale House ultimately loaded the bases in an attempt to drive in a run, but fell short.  The final score was 9-8 in favor of Kielty's.

Ale House vs. Ahearn's Hideaway - 6/20/03)
The Ale House started out slow, but exploded for a big forth inning.  An all around solid game.  Everyone contributed on offense.  The final score was 11-5.

Ale House vs. Valenti's Pub I - 6/17/03)
Henry Montgomery pitched a strong game, and had it not been for a few mis-plays, the score wouldn't have been as close.  Eddy Charette smashed a long home run, Rick and Ron Ferrara combined in bottom of 6th to score two big runs and Mike Tauvani made impressive start with two line drives off the fence for a triple and the longest single we have seen.  The final score was 10-8.

Ale House vs. Ale House II - 6/13/03)

(Ale House vs. Mud Dogs - 5/30/03)
A good confidence builder and a strong game for the Ale House.  Noel Minbiole
and Steve Williams went yard.  Everyone contributed in the win.  The final score was 11-1.

(Ale House vs. Valenti's Pub II - 5/27/03)
The game was exciting, start to finish.  The lead seemed to change inning by inning.  Although the defense could have been a bit more crisp, the Ale House held on to win in the bottom of the seventh inning on a strong line drive to the fence by Mike Bendon.  Michael Ward went yard and Mark Capano pitched the win.  The final score was 17-16.

(Ale House vs. Valenti's Pub I - 5/22/03)
The Ale House played hard and received great contributions from Ed Charette and Henry Montgomery on the mound.  Ed Charette capped off his game with a three run homer, but it wasn't enough as the Ale House fell short.  The final score was 12-10 in favor of Valenti's Pub I.

(Ale House vs. Scoreboard - 5/6/03)
The first game of the season began to shake the rust off and get the team pointed in the right direction.  After a slow start, the Ale House took advantage of some errors and put together a few key hits.  The final score was 13-8.
